Forest River RVs for Sale in IA

Founded
1996 in Elkhart, Indiana by Pete Liegl
Acquired
By Berkshire Hathaway in 2005
Known For
Travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, motorhomes & destination trailers
Pete Liegl launched the company in 1996 in Elkhart, Indiana, the heart of America's RV industry, after acquiring assets from Cobra Industries. His goal was to bring more people into RVing by offering a product that everyday families could actually afford. And he exceeded that goal.
2005 was a pivotal year for the company when Warren Buffett's Berkshire Hathaway acquired it. The acquisition was critical because it kept the original company's entrepreneurial spirit, but it also gave it the resources for further expansion.
Today, Forest River operates as one of the industry's "Big Three" major players. They produce some of the most recognized travel trailers, fifth wheels, toy haulers, motorhomes, and destination trailers on the road. What Forest River RVs are Best Known For
Forest River is best known among RVers for its incredible variety of models and affordability. They are especially popular with first-time RVers and value-conscious customers who want a solid unit and practical features without paying the highest prices. At the same time, they're able to deliver higher-end lines, like their destination trailers, that luxury travelers expect. Few other manufacturers can match the range that's available under their brand. Their ability to reach such a wide range of RVers has earned them a strong presence in the industry and among shoppers.
Popular Features that RVers Love
Forest River RVs prioritize comfort, convenience, and readiness - that's one of the things that makes them a top choice for new RVers. When you're first getting into the lifestyle, there's so much to consider. The model can look great on the showroom floor, but how well will it serve you and your family when you're camping? How difficult is it to tow if you've never done it before?
Many of their models include features that you can enjoy right out of the gate. Their thoughtful floor plans are also very considerate of family needs, featuring:
- Full kitchens with residential-sized refrigerators
- Lots of storage
- Solid construction
- Full bathrooms
- Comfortable living spaces
- Convertible sleeping areas
